Sr Mgr Inventory Control

Peet’s is a fast-paced environment, at an extremely exciting time of expansion. 

The Senior Manager Inventory Control is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of inventory across all sites. This role is accountable for inventory accuracy at production, distribution, 3Pl and co-manufacturing facilities.  The role is also responsible for daily, weekly and monthly reporting of adjustments and reconciliations and for continuously improving the inventory control processes and systems.  This individual serve on Peet’s Supply Chain Leadership Team and participate in the direction and strategy of the operations.

• Provide day-to-day operational and longer term, strategic leadership for the Inventory Control team across multiple sites, including Peet’s owned and operated and Third Party Logistics (3PLs) providers who are contracted by Peet’s.
• Build a system of checks and balances to ensure raw materials, WIP and finished goods inventory is managed to meet the operational needs of the business and maintains an inventory accuracy of >99%.
• Hire, train, retain and develop a high-performing team of inventory control professionals
• Collaboratively work cross-functionally with Production, Distribution, Quality, Accounting, Information Technology and FP&A to execute daily activities, develop longer-term plans, and continuously improve the business.
• Serve as the technical expert in inventory control for Peet’s operations
• Analyze complex transaction histories, reconcile discrepancies and adjust business processes and systems as necessary to minimize variances
• Assure transactions are timely and efficient for any products, materials, or supplies that are received, stored, moved, shipped, or distributed.
• Identify and report key performance metrics related to warehouse management and inventory control with targets based on best practices and industry benchmarks
• Ensure inventory control processes, workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, and system flows are up-to-date and followed by respective teams
• Lead the implementation of an effective cycle count program and periodic, comprehensive physical counts.
• Participate in mock recalls including tracing of all products through inventory and distribution with 100 percent accuracy.
• Participate in the coordination of site changes, product line extensions, or new production launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
• Provide analytical approaches on how to increase service levels and reduce costs.
• Drive continuous improvement in warehouse inventory management, material handling and inventory control.
• Build organizational sustainability of process improvement knowledge and strategies and facilitate, coach, counsel, and mentor teams to achieve targeted improvement initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree required with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Businesspreferred
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Inventory Management/Supply Chain/Cost Accounting roles
• Solid accounting and finance foundation. Cost accounting knowledge – i.e. Inventory, COGS, manufacturing variance analysis
• Prior experience in Manufacturing or Operations environment is preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
• Proven analytical and project management skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
• Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with broad, cross-functional business partners
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling proficiency required. ERP systems experience is required.  Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be a plus.
