  • Overview

    Reporting to the Sr. Manager New Concept Innovation, the New Store Project Manager is responsible for implementing new concepts & programs in the Away from Home Channel.  This role is a key contributor to revenue growth in the Channel by keeping new concept openings on track.  The role  manages all stages of new concept implementation across inventory planning, SOP creation, equipment and fixture sourcing and planning and client interface.  This is a full-time, exempt position in a fast paced high growth channel for Peet’s 


    1. Project Manage all New Licensed Store Openings and remodels for the Away from Home Division
      • Become design and operations expert on Peet’s Retail program as it continuously evolves.
      • Ensure all Licensed Partner locations are implemented to current Peet’s Design & Operational standards
      • Perform site surveys and analysis of potential sites for new stores and remodels, prepare high quality presentation drawings as required
      • Project manage millwork, construction, equipment and design vendors and Peet’s operating partners to deliver a best in class Peet’s LP Concept
      • Develop and adhere to project budgets and schedules and update and send out weekly project status dashboard
    2. Lead implementation of all new Away from Home Concepts and Programs to include Peet’s On Tap, Carts, Barista Station, etc
      • Develop project implementation plan and project manage cross functional group of internal and client teams from launch to project close
      • Perform site surveys and analysis of potential sites as needed
      • Source products, equipment and materials for implementation
      • Manage budget and implementation plan and make recommendations on future improvements
    3. Create and manage library of Design, Equipment and Concept assets and standards for external and internal clients
      • Develop online library of assets to share with customers and internal collaborators.
      • Develop and manage design prototype assets: CAD templates, store design brand standards, fixtures/furnishings packages, equipment packages and operational requirements, design prototypes/standards and image collection.
      • Review and update all design templates and documents for accuracy, feasibility and conformance to Peet's brand and industry standards
    4. Manage Fixture, Furnishings and equipment sourcing and forecasting for the division
      • Partner with marketing, field and to Develop and launch multiple applicable design solutions for wholesale channel
      • Work with design consultants to develop
      • Translate prototype store design to meet specific market location requirements
      • Manage the evolution of the project prototype through analysis and value engineering
    5. Manage Internal Equipment/R&M processes
      • Manage future RFP process and vendor relationship
      • Manage equipment rebilling process
    6. Manage execution of stored value and loyalty with approved Away from Home customers
      • Partner with customers, vendors and internal resources to support implementation of Peet’s programs at eligible customers
    7. Manage special projects as required


    • Minimum 7-10 years retail experience, focus on construction and design project management
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture / Interior Design or related project management field
    • Experience managing technical projects across a variety of disciplines.
    • High level of presence and poise and ability to interact with Sr. level clients and vendors and influence outcomes
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, conflict resolution skills and negotiation skills
    • Superior organizational and time management skills
    • Strong attention to detail, particularly as it pertains to visual inspections and design aesthetics
    • Ability to understand and translate three-dimensional concepts into construction documents; design, sketching and drawing ability
    • Well versed in fundamental building systems and construction means/methods
    • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Project Management tools
    • Able to manage multiple projects remotely and simultaneously
