  • Overview

    Reporting directly to the Manager of Store Development, the License Coordinator is responsible for actively tracking the successful renewal of all necessary permits and licenses for Peet’s retail stores, Limited Partners, DSD Warehouses, and other such locations so that they may operate legally in their jurisdictions


    • Works in close collaboration with multiple teams in the identification of functional, organizational and/or procedural issues and bring about swift and effective solutions
    • Provide weekly and monthly status reports to manager
    • Monitors project status and ensures system data is accurate, timely, and complete
    • Prepare project permit folders and effectively communicates the status of each permit
    • Track permits needed and permits expiring
    • Serve as liaison between Store Development, Retail Operations, and third party permit administrator
    • Assist Business Licenses LLC with the preparation and coordination of necessary applications, fees, data, and signatures required for permits and approvals
    • Coordinate submittal of paperwork for the renewal of permits or licenses.
    • Manage the permits mailbox on a daily basis for incoming requests and inquiries from retail stores and district/regional managers
    • Coordinate with the Facilities, Retail Operations, DSD (Direct Store Delivery), and Store Development Departments on handling inquiries from outside local/state government departments as to the payment status of initial permit applications and delinquent permit renewals
    • Corresponds with store managers, district leaders, and region leaders regarding business activity and licensing issues as needed
    • Escalate at risk permits to manager
    • Perform other special requests related to permits and licenses when applicable
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent preferred
    • 1 year work experience in deadline-oriented professional environment
    • Familiarity with permits and licenses considered on a preferential basis
    • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently
    • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and take initiative
    • Excellent follow-up, communication (written and verbal) skills
