  • Overview

    Reporting to the Sr. Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist is a key contributor to the human resource function at Peet’s.  This hands-on role, provides day to day HR support for our home office facility, Direct Store Delivery team, as well as field based Peetniks.

    The ideal candidate will be well versed in emerging employment laws (local, state, federal), human resource policies, talent acquisition, employee engagement, compliance and enjoys a diverse work environment. They will have high emotional intelligence with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and grow, and enjoys working in a fast- paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    New Employee Onboarding

    • Manages home office new employee onboarding process:
    • Responsible for sending new hire gifts to new employees
    • Partners with IT to ensure that employees are set up in Peet’s systems
    • Coordinates Employee’s First Day
    • Writes new employee welcome announcements
    • Manages all items related to New Employee Orientation this includes scheduling guest speakers, coordinating logistics for event, as well as meeting facilitation
    • Communicate with new employees on any logistics and paperwork assistance they need

    Employee Communications

    • Develop and edit communications, including designing and formatting unique messages, for various stakeholders throughout the business.
    • Work cross-functionally with various departments to determine how collaboration and joint-projects can better meet communication goals.
    • Manage Peet’s intranet to ensure that content is consistent, relevant and engaging across multiple channels/departments.
    • Prioritize projects and manage timelines/deadlines of multiple teams and clients

    Recruiting Programs & Processes

    • Conducts background checks for current and potential employees
    • Creates candidate offer letters and tracks all responses
    • Coordinates and updates recruitment advertising for including online postings & print ads
    • Posts jobs to company ATS system
    • Processes and tracks employee referral bonuses and coordinates ERP quarterly contest
    • Manage full cycle recruiting of customer service, wholesale and other business channels for Home Office
    • Manage onboarding of all contingent workers for Home Office

    HR Program & Processes

    • Coordinates monthly anniversary gift program
    • Manage employee “Cheers” recognition program
    • Assist with Exit Interviews as necessary
    • Process all HR related Invoices
    • Tracks and records budget for HR department

    Additional Duties

    • Assists Sr. HR Manager with employee relations for home office and field based employees as needed
    • Responding to employee needs swiftly, while providing accurate information, support and guidance
    • Manage analysis and present quarterly turnover information
    • Coordinates Department meetings & offsite events as needed
    • Daily Back-up receptionist duty
    • Works closely with Home Office Facilities team on employee space planning and office moves
    • Lead the development and execution of special internal events

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in, Human Resources
    • 2-3 + years previous HR experience
    • Creative problem solver who is resourceful and dedicated to seeing projects through to their successful completion. 
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, as well as set targets.
    • Strong verbal communication skills including comfort presenting information to teams and speaking publicly. 
    • Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and follow-through
    • Excellent writing skills is a must
    • Impeccable office etiquette and a professional approach with internal and external partners. 
    • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail. 
    • Must have expertise in key Microsoft Office programs, such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.  (Experience with Sharepoint, Yammer and iCIMS a plus).
