    This full-time role based in our Emeryville headquarters reports directly to the Director of IT Security. The individual in this role will be responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, maintenance and administration activities associated with the Peet’s Coffee network infrastructure, including telecommunications circuits, LANs, WANs, Switches, Routers, Load Balancers, and Firewalls, both physical and virtual devices.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform administration of the networking infrastructure including telecommunications circuits, LANs, WANs, Switches, Routers, Load Balancers, and other related network equipment in both on premise and cloud environments.
    • Provide monitoring and support for networking components used in the company's core business units and revenue channels.
    • Monitor network performance and reliability. Proactively identify potential problems and make recommendations for upgrades or updates as necessary.
    • Work with the Data Security Administrator to implement strong network security configurations, install firmware and software patches, remediate vulnerabilities, and research security incidents.
    • Design and document network architecture for new projects, Business Continuity/DR, and evolving security and business operational requirements.
    • Provide support for networking issues escalated from IT helpdesk and/or system administrators
    • Provide technical support and maintenance for the company's PCI and SOX compliance programs.
    • Provide on-call emergency 24/7 technical support as necessary.
    • Manage the lifecycle for network infrastructure systems
    • Architect, implement, and support end to end solutions including server and network infrastructure environments.

    Qualifications

    Education/ Training

    • College degree in related field or relevant experience
    • 5+ years network engineering experience
    • CCNA, CCNP, CCIE and other relevant certifications desired

     

    - Knowledge and Skills

    - Experience configuring, implementing, and maintaining the following:

    - Cisco Routers, Switches, and Firewalls

    - Cisco Access Control Lists and VLAN Segmentation

    - Cisco Port Level Security

    - Cisco Virtual Private Networks

    - Remote Two-factor Authentication Solutions

    - Intrusion Protection and Detection Systems

    - Palo Alto Networks firewalls and VPN’s

    - Physical and Virtual LAN/WAN Design and Implementation

    - Routing protocols such as BGP. OSPF and EIGRP

    - Network Services such as DNS, NTP, DHCP

    - Network Monitoring and Management Tools, Solarwinds preferred

    - Understanding of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard and network related controls

    - Excellent documentation skills, including using Visio for network diagrams

    - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

    - Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment.

    - Proficient time management and organizational skills.

    - Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems using packet decoding tools such as Wireshark
