  • Overview

    Peet’s Key Account Manager Large Format position is to develop sustained business relationships, drive profitable sales and incremental distribution for all Peet’s portfolio brands within assigned large format customers in the Northeastern US.  The Peet’s portfolio includes dry grocery coffee and refrigerated cold brew.  The KAM is responsible for exceeding volume, new item distribution and share goals while improving return on customer investment. The KAM is responsible for maximizing the in-store condition of their categories by leading MAPS execution across the extended team of Shopper Marketing, Category Management, Customer Marketing, Customer Finance & DSD Sales.  The individual must be able to successfully create and manage projects that require cross-functional contribution. She or he needs very strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to develop winning propositions for Peet’s Coffee and full distribution of all Cold Brew Brands.

     

    The Peet’s KAM’s main responsibility is to lead their assigned customers by providing insights and support in the following areas:

     

    • Business Fundamentals (KPI’s):  Distribution, share of shelf, pricing, shelving, promotion and retail margin recommendations.
    • Trade spending efficiency (post promotion) analysis.
    • Category development insights (data mining and strategy / story development).
    • Business planning (based on data insights, and knowledge of account dynamics (POG).
    • Forecasting development (based on account and market knowledge).
    • Effectively partner with Peet’s Customer Insights team to ensure optimal planogram production and cross functional planning.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with the key personnel at each assigned customer
    • Key account management

    Experience selling to key regional accounts is essential, with some experience in internal CPG HQ category management, customer marketing, and customer category development preferred.

     

    The KAM is a full-time exempt position and reports to the CPG East Director of Sales

     

    Responsibilities

     

    1. Planning:
    • Strategic thinking – Can accurately analyze business trends in the market place and tie to business needs.
    • Utilizes all appropriate resources to maximize effective and realistic planning.
    • Adaptable: Able to course correct based on company, business demands.
    1. Execution:
    • Development of fact-based data analysis and presentations that will drive Peet’s volume while growing our customer’s business - focusing on increased distribution/space gains promotional, display support.
    • Coffee and Cold Brew expertise-continually developing business, trends, product, and share knowledge with customers to educate them on Peet's Coffee.
    • Flawless communication of promotional pricing and timing.
    • Volume and Trade forecasting for assigned customers.
    1. Administrative:
    • Strong time management skills- ability to balance proactive analytical work while responding to short lead time projects based on current needs.
    • Tracking and reporting of business for external / internal customers as needed.
    • Manage resources, time, and projects to maximum efficiency.
    • Manage Account level promotional deal sheets and customer sales planners.

    Qualifications

    • Between five (5) and ten (10) years of CPG sales, customer marketing, category management, and analytical/category work is preferred.
    • Exceptional understanding of IRI or Nielsen syndicated data, Excel, Power Point,
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
    • Results oriented, high personal values, motivated.
    • Strong work ethic.
