  • Overview

    The Sales Planning Manager drives programs and initiatives that lead to profitable growth through emerging channels and products in the Consumer division. The work will be grounded by a deep understanding of key customers, coupled by brand/portfolio strategies and connected to division objectives. This role will translate consumer and sales data, coupled with market trends and customer strategies. Starting from strategy development through business planning and execution, this role will work with cross functional partners to develop new customers, launch products and create merchandising opportunities best suited for specific customers or a channel. Developing channel / brand pricing and trade strategy will be a critical component Product launch management will extend across all Consumer channels. As needed, this role will assist in opening new and emerging customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Translation of syndicated data, market trends, customer strategy and consumer insights into compelling business development plans that lead to profitable sales growth in emerging channels.
    • Create channel and customer strategies focused on pricing, consumer/trade promotion, product portfolio / assortment, new item launches and merchandising
    • Sales lead for new, emerging channels / customers or specific opportunities
    • Work collaboratively between sales, marketing, sales operations, production and finance to effectively execute channel strategies
    • Partner with field sales in customer meetings where business strategies and insights contribute to critical decision points and a business outcome
    • Accountable for setting sales objectives, tracking and reporting against them

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 7-years experience in CPG sales or sales planning roles, product management and/or category management
    • Must have customer facing, field sales experience
    • Experience with Distributors strongly preferred
    • Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills
    • New item launch experience in CPG, Foodservice is a plus
    • Proven ability to analyze and deliver insights from a multitude of data sources (syndicated a must)
    • Ability to create forecasts, financial models and budgets
    • Well organized and able to handle multiple projects
    • Ability to form strong cross functional partnership across the organization to align strategic, operational and financial goals
