Peet’s has grown over the past 48 years and we are currently in an extremely exciting time of expansion. We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Senior Manager of Creative Operations to help champion our internal Creative Services group that provides creative solutions throughout the company.
The role of the Sr. Manager, Creative Operations is to transform brand experience concepts into tangible deliverables in an efficient process to support the marketing strategies of the brand across all channels. This position will lead all artwork production, project management, agency management, budget management and brand stewardship for the Brand and Creative Strategy team across the Peet’s Coffee and Tea brand. Working as a member of a cross functional team the Sr. Manager, Creative Operations will collaborate closely with multi-channel Directors and all Marketing Managers within Brand & Marketing to develop flawlessly executed artwork, brand identity collateral systems, point-of-sale communications, press kits, digital and in-store experiences. This position reports into the Creative Director.
Areas of Responsibilities:
Creative Strategy: Manage the process of design and production for multi-channel marketing needs from brief through delivery. Support all Marketing Managers through creative strategy and project management on all internal programs and campaigns. Ensure use of the program strategy and creative brief process on all internal programs. Have refined design eye, ability to creative problem solve and understand design systems. Manage the breadth of creative operations functions in support of the Creative Director’s strategic brand vision.
Project Management: Manage all requests for new creative work and existing assets. Set up system to manage workflow, set priorities and deadlines across all brand categories in multiple channels. Track all projects that flow through Creative Services with project management software (Robohead) with ability to report on workflow regularly. You will have 1-2 project manager direct reports.
Resource Management: Recruit, resource and mentor an implementation team and freelancer network to meet the evolving needs of our business. Develop resources that allow us to effectively manage multi-channel campaigns, creative assets and brand guidelines. Operational right hand for the Creative Director.
Print Production: Lead the process of producing and implementing all artwork. Develop and maintain all vendor relationships. Provide print production expertise in executing creative and set best practices for routing process, art work trafficking and file hand off. Manage all prepress process and issues. Work closely with Creative Director to ensure seamless transition from creative concepts to final output.
Budget Management: Proactively manage the Creative services budget including forecasts, accruals, invoices, and artwork, expenditures, agency spend, creative production costs. Financial point of contact for monthly Brand & Marketing Department budget status.
Agency Relationships: Negotiate contracts and ensure seamless project management and communication on marketing campaigns and ongoing work. Collaborate and support Marketing Directors and Sr. Managers on programs and campaigns developed with outside agencies. Key point of contact for agency and new team member on-boarding.
Asset and Brand Standards Management: Manage all brand standards and style guides for all brand and marketing systems. Support internal legal consult and stay up to date with all intellectual trademarks as keeper of the brand. Responsible for set up and management of creative assets management.
Photoshoot Management and Production: Manage all aspects of producing a photoshoot, from finding appropriate photographers, to booking, coordinating internal and external teams, setting up pre-pro meetings, day-of coordination including shot lists and timing, to final invoice management.
Team Management Support: Lead regular workflow meetings with designers, organize internal training, keep supplies and equipment up to date, coordinate team celebrations, and provide general support to the Creative Services team with a positive and motivating attitude.
In depth experience executing product and marketing strategies and campaigns across a broad set of mediums and business channels. Extensive knowledge of print production, project management and creative services process while keeping ahead of related design trends, technologies and best practices. Good listener and ability to articulate creative objectives and strategy to internal partners and external agencies, manage all aspects of the agency/client relationship and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Meet deadlines with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Comfortable being assertive in order to gain alignment and move projects forward. Strong leadership and collaboration skills are essential to support marketing, creative and channel partners within the company. A love for coffee and tea is a plus.
Qualifications & Experience:
The right candidate will be able to juggle all aspects of creative operations included but not limited to print production, digital production, agency and project management and will be a master at problem solving and juggling schedules. With 8+ years of solid brand and creative services experiences (retail and consumer packaged goods experience ideal) this candidate will be able to build and lead the process and workflow to support world class creative work as well as roll-out multi-channel brand campaigns.
