  • Overview

    Peet’s is seeking Sr. Director of IT Business Systems to be part of the team that drives concept, design, and development of our business application systems.  These systems include ERP, Business Intelligence and reporting, integration and master data.  This role is the strategic liaison between the Peet’s IT and the business team - responsible for building and managing relationships; demonstrating IT’s focus on engagement to help drive our business operation and strategic plan; and serving as a “trusted advisor” and primary point of contact for all non-retail technology needs. 

     

    Reporting to the CIO, the overall function of the role is to be the IT leader on point to ensure all parts of local and enterprise technology execution are delivered with high quality and positive results.  Also, to assist business partners in determining how to achieve business results quicker and more effectively through technology. This individual is responsible for understanding business direction and needs, to drive formulation of solutions and roadmaps; providing insights to technical solution capabilities, leveraging internal solutions and investigating external solutions. They are responsible for working with IT leadership in defining the strategic approach to delivering the needs of the business (stakeholder management and demand management). 

    Responsibilities

    Strategy & Planning

    • Create business application roadmaps in collaboration with business leaders – from VPs to Managers.  Includes running planning and status meetings.
    • Takes a leadership role in shaping technology services aligned to the strategic direction of the business partners they support.
    • Responsible to stay abreast of industry and technology trends that impact or support business partners.
    • Develop and implement forward-thinking improvements that enable I.T.’s ability to deliver more, faster, and with a higher degree of quality and business value by collaborating with the IT Leadership Team.

     

    Relationship Management

    • Responsible for effective stakeholder management – to create positive relationships through management of expectations and agreed upon objectives. 
    • Ensures/participates in development of business cases, requirements, and documentation in support of proposed and approved business initiatives in collaboration with business stakeholders and key business users
    • Be a trusted advisor to business partners regarding technology concerns, concepts, and opportunities. 
    • Provides IT Leadership Team insights to the needs and concerns of business partners (“pulse of relationship”). Prepare strategies to increase existing and new businesses and identify appropriate vendor for all projects and manage communication for all ecommerce status projects.
    • Administer and approve all final deliveries and improvements to business applications
    • Collaborate with information technology engineering and business units to deliver all releases and prepare work schedule for all projects and provide support to all strategies to achieve all marketing strategies.
    • Assist business leads to review all financials of projects and analyze all key business metrics.
    • Document all business plans and design strategies and facilitate approval for all senior management and manage work of systems managers and individual contributors.
    • Collaborate with Quality Assurance team and design all training materials and analyze effectiveness of all new features on applications and system releases.

     

     

    Operational Management

    • Leads and promotes effective teamwork and manages the resolution of interpersonal issues, serving as a point of escalation. 
    • Is accountable for orchestrating and delivering 24 by 7 operational support for mission critical systems.
    • Coordinates closely across IT functional areas that are supporting business operations – stays aware of and actively manages when necessary, production issues, project status, delays, etc.
    • Works across IT to broker support and commitment of business needs. 
    • Identifying solutions to systems issues and monitoring/reducing costs
    • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of IT and the service catalog, and assigned departments/business partners to identify and communicate how IT solutions can support the achievement of short- and long-term business goals.

    Qualifications

    Essential Training/Certifications: 

    • Education:  BS degree in related field (Comp Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business); MBA or equivalent highly desirable.
    • Job-related experience: 10 to 15 years relevant experience; 

     

    Essential Skills/Knowledge: 

    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
    • ERP, BI and Integration platform experience preferably on Microsoft AX / D365 / BizTalk
    • Experience with Business Intelligence and master data architectures and strategies
    • Broad fundamental innovation and business development knowledge
    • Considerable people management skills; capable of acting as leader, advisor, mentor, and coach
    • Strong strategic vision in areas of business, development and innovation
    • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Significant business and stakeholder relationship building experience
    • Responsiveness to change and leads as a change agent
